As a way to honour those who have made exceptional contributions to these fields, Euroanaesthesia has established the tradition of opening the conference with the Prof. Ibsen and Sir Macintosh lectures. These lectures are an opportunity to recognise individuals&#8217; outstanding contributions and emphasise their vital role in the medical community. The Prof. Ibsen and Sir Macintosh lectures are highly regarded within the field and are a highlight of the Euroanaesthesia conference.<\/p>\n\n                    <\/div>\n                \n at the University of Brussels (Universit\u00e9 Libre de Bruxelles) and intensivist in the Department of Intensive Care at Erasme University Hospital in Brussels. He is a Past-President of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (WFSICCM) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). He is member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine and was awarded the title of Baron by the King of Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"tabs__tab__ceremonies-and-lectures__item--content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Prof. Vincent has signed more than 1000 peer-reviewed articles, some 400 book chapters and review articles, 1000 original abstracts, and has edited more than 112 books. He is co-editor of the \u201cTextbook of Critical Care\u201d (Elsevier Saunders) and the \u201cEncyclopedia of Intensive Care Medicine\u201d (Springer). He is the editor-in-chief of <em>Critical Care<\/em>, <em>Current Opinion in Critical Care<\/em>, and <em>ICU Management &amp; Practice<\/em> and member of the editorial boards of about 30 other journals.<\/p>\n<p>His name appears more than 1300 times in Pubmed, and his work has been cited more than 240,000 times; his H-index is She is also currently completing her postgraduate law thesis, focussing on patient information disclosure cases and medical informed consent at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. She is more notably known as the pursuer in the landmark Supreme Court Judgment, Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine has a Law degree, LLB, and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, DPLP, from the University of Strathclyde. As a public ambassador she continues to champion women\u2019s autonomy and consent in childbirth, supporting their communications and campaigns and training for healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine is an Ambassador for the unique national charity Baby lifeline which supports frontline NHS staff to prevent injuries and deaths in and around childbirth.
